The wildlife
of Tadoba

One of India's highest tiger densities — plus leopards, sloth bears, gaur, dholes and more than two hundred recorded bird species.

Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve is Maharashtra's oldest and largest national park, spanning roughly 1,727 sq km of core and buffer forest in Chandrapur district. It holds one of the highest tiger densities in India. Beyond the tiger, the reserve shelters Indian leopards, sloth bears, gaur, dholes, striped hyenas, nilgai, marsh crocodiles and over 200 recorded bird species. City Flora Tiger Resort sits about 1 km from the Alizanza buffer gate.

Best time to visit

When to come looking

November – February

Most comfortable weather. Cool mornings, pleasant drives, good all-round activity. Best for families.

February – May

Highest sighting probability. Water sources shrink and animals concentrate around them — though afternoons get genuinely hot.

Monsoon (Jul – Sep)

Core zones typically close, but buffer zones including Alizanza generally stay open. The forest is at its greenest and birdlife peaks.
